Jordan Marzzacco Featured in the Pennsylvania Association of Justice Journal

Jordan Marzzacco recently had an article published in the winter edition of the Pennsylvania Association of Justice journal, PA Justice News. The article, titled “Creating a Cycle of Success”, discusses coaching Marzzacco and her colleagues at Marzzacco Niven & Associates have recently received about how to create habits and patterns that lead to a cycle of success.

Marzzacco and her firm have been getting coaching from Rob Rorke, owner of Next Play Sports. Although the advice he’s been giving them is usually tailored for elite athletes, it can also apply to trial attorneys. There are four steps to they cycle Rorke recommends: preparation, planning, performance, and post-performance reflection.

  • Preparation – During this step, you set your mindset for planning, establishing an expectation of excellence and cultivating a positive mental attitude.
  • Planning – This is the stage when you determine how you’ll tackle the challenge and succeed. You may create habits and routines that set you up for success, including eating healthy, fostering healthy sleep patterns, and setting dedicated work times.
  • Performance – This is where all your preparation and planning comes into play. Trust the process and focus on executing your plan as you laid it out.
  • Post-performance Reflection – Once the challenge is over, it’s good to spend some time thinking about your performance. What did you do well, and what can you improve on next time? Did you follow your plan, and if not, what can you do to change that next time?

Following this process regularly can help you ensure everything you do, from mediations to full-blown trials, has the best possible chance of success.
