Salvina Presents CLE for Dauphin County Bar Association

On Tuesday, August 13th, Ben Salvina of Marzzacco Niven & Associates presented a continuing legal education seminar to members of the Dauphin County Bar Association. The program was titled “The Implications of Recreational and Medical Marijuana Usage on Employment and Criminal Law.”  Attorney Ed Spreha, a prominent criminal defense lawyer, also presented with Salvina.

Salvina’s presentation was titled “The Pennsylvania Medical Marijuana Act & Employment Discrimination Claims” and focused on how employers throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania often misinterpret and misapply the mandates of the law. When the law is misinterpreted, often times, Pennsylvania workers suffer unwarranted discipline, including wrongful discharge.  Of course, because medical marijuana use could also violate some of Pennsylvania’s criminal laws, such as the prohibition on driving while intoxicated, Salvina and Spreha noted and explained the prevailing issues.

Salvina earned his undergraduate degree from Brown University and his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. With over 13 years of legal experience in labor and employment law, Salvina represents clients wrongfully discriminated against by their employers throughout Pennsylvania.
